Botanostalgie
Von Gewächshäusern, Hüten und Liebreiz
Of Glasshouses, Care and Gracefulness
⁂
7th October ~ 11th November 2016
Cuore di Vetro, Berlin
The exhibition setup (notably the plate glass, organic soil and velour paper) draws inspiration from glasshouses and botanical museums. The diaphanous veil (15 g/m² · 100% mulberry tree bark · handcrafted in accordance with the Thai tradition) evokes the water nebulisation, the herbarium paper and the Nebel (mist) within HauchnebelkabinetT.
The photographs are printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta paper (325 g/m² · 100% α-Cellulose) and conceptually mirror the botanical specimens preserved by museums. Each exhibited work constitutes an ecosystem; upon the arrangement, the consequences of the interaction between pH and humidity of both soil and paper are unforeseeable.
